Traveling by bus from Plitvice National Park to Zagreb is possible year-round. During winter, there are only a few daily departures; however, in the summer season, there is up to 15 departures each day.
The price for a one-way adult ticket is about 12-15 Euro, and from time to time the bus company has special campaigns with reduced prices. Most bus operators offer a discount for kids under the age of 12. Ticket for the bus can bought online or at the bus shelter during the daytime.
In winter seasons there are up to 5 daily departures, in the summer season this number increases to 15 daily departures, majority of departures are between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Below, you can see some of the most popular departure times. At Plitvice, there is no bus station; buses depart from roadside stops near both Entrance 1 and Entrance 2, allowing you to board the bus at either location.
The arrival bus station in Zagreb is located at the address Avenija Marina Držića 4, 10000 Zagreb, which is about 20 minute's walk from the city center, you can find more info about the bus station here:
I would personally recommend waiting at Entrance 2, as this is the first stop at Plitvice Lakes when the bus drives towards Zagreb (Hence more seats to pick from😉), You can of course also board the bus at Entrance 1.
In the summer season, the last bus leaves Plitvice around 6 p.m. If you wish to travel to Zagreb later in the evening, you will have to book a private transfer.
