Since Umag is close to the Slovenian border, excursions can be organized to the famous Postojna cave and a small place in the mountains called Bled with the eponymous lake and a small island on the lake.
From Umag southwards, an excursion can be taken along the coast to visit the west coast Istrian cities like Porec, Rovinj, Novigrad, Pula, Vrsar and Medulin, all famous tourist destinations. Very popular are also excursions to places in continental Istria like Hum, Motovun, Groznjan and tours across vineyards, olive groves and forests where you can go truffle hunting.
Some of the natural beauties you can visit from Umag is the Lim Channel, the National Park Brijuni near Pula, Baredine cave and the ornithological reserve Palud. A little bit further south-east, visit the most popular Croatian national park, Plitvice Lakes.
Tours are also organized to the eastern coast of Istria, the Riviera of Opatija, Crikvenica and Novi Vinodolski.
